Greasy Chicken and Hollywood Fame

September 3rd we returned from our two week vacation to a glorious glowing polleria sign right next to our house. For those of you who don’t know, a polleria is a place where chicken is rotisseried(rotisserated?). Needless to say, we were pumped. We ate at our neighboring polleria and discussed such topics as; establishing a strategic partnership with the polleria, and the possibility of cutting a hole in my bedroom to efficiently get chicken at any point in the day. During dinner a guy cruised in and busted out his video camera. He videotaped us eating chicken and we gleefully shared our praises to the camera.

I am proud to say that Adam, Mary Magellan, Cheryl, and I are all prominently featured on a locally circulating polleria commercial. I don’t know what this means in terms of my on screen future, for now I can just say that I hope the crowds of paparazzi don’t disrupt my 15 foot walk from my door to the polleria.

What a bro knows...

Yesterday my big brother Ethan asked me to be his best man when he marries Kelly next spring. I think today is a good day to start my blog. I’m starting a blog because I only occasionally feel the need to tell people how I really feel. I’m not hiding it, I just don’t express myself very often. I don’t know if people will learn anything from it. I’m not trying to preach or build myself up I just want to put it down for whoever is interested; probably just my mom. It’s not necessarily about Team Peru, or The Andean Alliance, or The Becky Fund. It’s about experiences I’ve had and how they changed my perception and my actions.

Its good to start the day after my bro asked me to be best man because he is a big part of who I am. Ethan and I have had some amazing experiences together over the span of many years. He was there the first time a rode a bike, the first time I swam in the ocean, the first time I surfed. Once as a freshman in high school he took me aside and told me to stop slacking off in school. He gave me my first swirly and my first beer and he was with me the first time I came to Peru.

Ethan has been a big influence on my life and he knows it. He is proud of me and I’m happy about that.
